Learning Outcome 5 and 6

In my Chosen Work Sample, I chose my Project #2 because I felt it was not only my best writing piece, but because I felt it was challenging working with the two different articles.  By working with these articles, I had to correctly and smoothly implement quotes and paraphrases into my piece from both articles, which meant I had to do in-text citations and a works cited page.  I did do a works cited page for Project #2, but I made a very silly mistake by forgetting to include it in my final copy I turned in for grading.  Despite this, I have made works cited pages in MLA format before and did provide one for Project #1 and Project #3.  I did include a lot of in-text citations for Project #2 because as I previously said, I was weaving two different articles and their ideas into conversation, so I had to use quotes and paraphrase what the authors said. I received no comments during my peer’s review of my paper about my in-text citations because I feel that I did a good job implementing them correctly into my paper.  For example, if I was quoting something from Charles C. Mann’s article, I would implement an in-text citation that looked like “(Mann 11).” I use the authors last name in my citation as well as the page number from where I took the quote from, which fits the criteria of MLA format that was tasked to me.  When I cited the other author, Lizzie Widdicombe, I used the same format as Mann’s citation, which would be “(Widdicombe 1)”.
